This discussion comes as excitement builds around “Suka!”, an AI-generated track by Rea Gopane, a former podcaster, which has gained significant attention on streaming platforms.<\/p>\n

The track has garnered a substantial number of listeners, recently reaching the top spot on Apple Music South Africa\u2019s Top 100 chart and sparking renewed discussions about the role of AI in creative endeavors.<\/p>\n

Cassper expressed admiration for the song, initially believing it was created by a new artist.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt fooled me, and I\u2019m a professional musician,\u201d he stated. \u201cOne of the things that\u2019s exciting about music is discovering new music and new artists.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, his initial surprise soon gave way to concern. He pointed out that while established musicians might not feel an immediate effect, it is newcomers who could be most at risk.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s a threat to people who are established. We\u2019re good, but I really see it being a problem for new artists trying to break into the market,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf they can make music like that consistently, it\u2019s a problem, because I feel like AI music might be powered by record labels that don\u2019t want to pay and deal with artists anymore,\u201d Cassper noted.<\/p>\n
