In week seven, Ilano\u2019s time on \u201cBig Brother Mzansi\u201d concluded, just before the Top 10 lineup was finalized. For her, reaching the finale was never the sole objective.<\/p>\n

The 22-year-old artist actively engaged in life within the house, ensuring her influence was palpable.<\/p>\n

Ilano infused the space with vibrant energy and unique moments that resonated with the audience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She consistently showcased her style, with her hair and makeup always looking impeccable, and she gained recognition for preparing some delectable meals. Whether she was dressed to the nines or busy in the kitchen, Ilano embraced her role enthusiastically.<\/p>\n

In a conversation with \u201cIndependent Media Lifestyle\u201d, she explained how entering the house as the first openly transgender contestant in the show\u2019s history was something she had anticipated.<\/p>\n

When questioned about the significance of this moment and any associated pressures, she reflected on her mental preparation.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was prepared mentally, physically and emotionally. I walked into that house knowing my purpose, my vision, and I knew who I am. And when it came to the house, I just wanted to offer South Africa the pure energy that I carry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In contrast to many contestants who enter with specific plans, Ilano notes she lacked a defined strategy. In fact, she had not closely followed the show prior to her participation. While others geared up for gameplay and visibility, she prioritized staying true to herself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know what strategy is in that house. I just gave them Ilano. If I were given another chance, I\u2019d still go in the same way. I\u2019m me,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n

The environment of the \u201cBig Brother Mzansi\u201d house can be intimidating at first. When reflecting on how she acclimated to life within the house, including managing the constant surveillance and various personalities, she admitted that the cameras initially caught her off guard.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe second day, the camera was directed to my face, and I was like, girl, no,\u201d she laughed. \u201cBut you take time to familiarise yourself with the space. Eventually, you even forget about them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<span Fans of the reality series know that Illano was the go-to individual for everything in the house. From cooking to assisting the other contestants with their hair and makeup, along with cleaning duties, she naturally adopted a nurturing role.<\/p>\n

Despite one might assume her actions were meant to curry favor, she maintained it was simply her nature. That was just part of who she is.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a helper. I live by my name. I make someone\u2019s day,\u201d she emphasized. Even during moments when she felt underappreciated, she remained true to herself. \u201cI\u2019m genuine. I can\u2019t fake that.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Now that she is back in the outside world, Ilano has clear aspirations. Acting and presenting rank high on her agenda, along with continuing her hair and makeup endeavors, though she intends to do so with greater purpose.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very young. I\u2019m building this empire. It takes a lot to be 22 years old doing all of this. I\u2019m not going to lie, sometimes it gets so overwhelming, but thank you to God and everyone who has been supporting my journey.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m putting in the work, but I\u2019m going to try to stick to more professional things, so I know that I\u2019m safe. Plus I\u2019m trans, you know. There\u2019s just a lot of things that I\u2019m more cautious about now. It\u2019s more about protecting yourself,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n

With Ilano\u2019s eviction, the housemates have officially entered the top 10 phase of the competition, which now includes Thandeka, Liema, Bravo B, Que, Mmeli, Ashay, Trixie, Didi, King Wanda, and The Don.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
