Lerato Mvelase formally entered a new chapter of her career on Sunday, a significant milestone for her.<\/p>\n

The accomplished actress and television presenter took to the airwaves on “Power FM,” hosting \u201cPower Perspective,\u201d a Sunday evening program included in the station\u2019s updated 2026 schedule.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

While audiences expected her typical confidence, they instead witnessed her emotional side. At the beginning of the broadcast, Mvelase fought back tears while expressing how long she had anticipated the chance to work in radio.<\/p>\n

Although her career has spanned over twenty years in television and film, she noted that this occasion felt uniquely significant.<\/p>\n

She mentioned that her children and mother were present outside the studio during the show, adding a deeply personal touch to the experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cI apologise in advance because my children are sitting outside the studio right now with my mom, and this chapter of my life is something that I know I waited for for many, many years,\u201d she said tearfully.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Mvelase reflected on her dedication to her family and how important it was for them to be there as she embarked on this new venture.<\/p>\n

She expressed her gratitude to the station for their faith in her, recognizing that entering the radio space was not something she initially envisioned at this point in her career.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd I just wanna say thank you to the station for this moment because it\u2019s not something I was looking at doing at this point in my life, without realising that God was just aligning me. My ancestors were aligning me for this very moment,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n

In her introductory comments, the 43-year-old mother of two emphasized faith, patience, and timing. She encouraged listeners to believe that their own opportunities will arrive, even if they seem postponed.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cSometimes we do other things, thinking that some things are not for us, but God always has a different plan,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

Renowned for her performances in productions such as \u201cHome Affairs,\u201d \u201cIsibaya,\u201d \u201cJustice Served,\u201d and Netflix\u2019s \u201cMarked,\u201d Mvelase has earned recognition and nominations for her work. Her entry into radio marks yet another evolution in her career.<\/p>\n

Regarding \u201cPower Perspective,\u201d she described the show’s intent to humanise political and social discussions in the country. Rather than avoiding challenging subjects, she intends to focus on real stories and lived experiences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
