The champion of American Idol<\/em> Season 3, Fantasia Barrino, has revealed that her upcoming album will mark her final release.<\/p>\n

This unexpected announcement was made as the artist was gearing up for a live performance in Baltimore this week.<\/p>\n

The When I See You<\/em> artist was entering her venue for the Baltimore concert, warmly interacting with her crew, who were diligently preparing the sound system and other technical arrangements for the event.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2026I remember when I wasn\u2019t even performing in arenas. I used to say, \u2018God, wherever you lead me, that\u2019s where I want to be\u2019,\u201d the 41-year-old artist stated in her video on Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just so thankful\u2026 So, we\u2019ve arranged an incredible show,\u201d she added while interrupting her live social media session to share her message.<\/p>\n

<pThe singer then shocked her fans with the following revelation in the comment section.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou heard it from me, I\u2019m going to release my last album. I didn\u2019t mention my last performances, just my last album.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fantasia\u2019s achievements<\/h2>\n

Fantasia has released seven studio albums, with her latest being Sketchbook<\/em> in 2019.<\/p>\n

In addition to her music career, she has participated in numerous acting projects, most notably portraying Celie in the 2023 musical film adaptation of The Color Purple<\/em>, which was produced by Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Scott Sanders, and Quincy Jones.<\/p>\n
