{"id":27840,"date":"2026-04-10T21:21:10","date_gmt":"2026-04-10T19:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wedodis.co.za\/news\/?p=27840"},"modified":"2026-04-10T21:21:10","modified_gmt":"2026-04-10T19:21:10","slug":"brothers-charged-in-aka-and-tibz-murder-case-withdraw-bail-application","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wedodis.co.za\/news\/brothers-charged-in-aka-and-tibz-murder-case-withdraw-bail-application\/","title":{"rendered":"Brothers Charged in AKA and Tibz Murder Case Withdraw Bail Application"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"mvp-content-main\">\n<div id=\"attachment_143315\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\">Two brothers, Siyabonga Ndimande and Malusi Ndimande, who are charged in connection with the murders of AKA and his friend Tebello \u2018Tibz\u2019 Motsoane, have chosen to withdraw their application for bail during their recent court appearance.The brothers appeared at the Durban Magistrate\u2019s Court on Friday, 10 April 2026, where it was made clear that they would be discontinuing their bid for bail.<\/p>\n<p>This marks a notable change from their earlier intention to request bail.<\/p>\n<p>Natasha Kara, spokesperson for the KwaZulu-Natal National Prosecuting Authority, confirmed the news, saying, \u201cOn their last appearance, they advised that they would want to make a bail application.<\/p>\n<p>However, in court today, the accused abandoned their bail application.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Ndimande brothers are among seven individuals facing charges related to the murder of AKA and Tibz, who were shot and killed in February 2023 outside a well-known restaurant on Florida Road in Durban.<\/p>\n<p>After the shooting, the brothers reportedly fled to Eswatini, where they were apprehended and subsequently extradited to South Africa in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>They are currently in custody together with their co-defendants as the legal proceedings advance. The trial is scheduled to commence on 20 July 2026, with further phases likely to follow later in the year.<\/p>\n<p>The state is expected to call numerous witnesses as it prepares its
