This debate gained momentum after Joey shared his thoughts on his discography, stating that while he still cherishes his first mixtape 1999, he regards All-Amerikkkan Badass as the most significant work in his career. He emphasized that its strong intention is what differentiates it.

A-Reece promptly provided an alternate viewpoint, expressing his admiration for Joey’s earlier effort. “This album right here is criminally underrated, clearly,” he stated, mentioning key tracks like “Piece of Mind,” “Hazeus View,” “Like Me,” “Belly of the Beast,” “Christ Conscious,” “On & On,” and “Black Beetles.”

He reiterated his commendation, describing the album as a thorough experience from beginning to end. To him, the record transcends music and taps into a certain mindset, making it feel almost ethereal.

Further, A-Reece proposed that in an alternate universe, B4.DA.$$ would be recognized as a contemporary classic, standing alongside Joey’s later work, 2000. The album, released in 2015, combines boom bap influences with thoughtful storytelling and a philosophical undertone.

Tracks like “Christ Conscious” delve into spiritual themes, while “Hazeus View” and “Piece of Mind” present nuanced reflections on urban life. Meanwhile, songs such as “Belly of the Beast” and “Like Me” introduce melody without losing lyrical substance.

Contributions from producers like Statik Selektah and Kirk Knight lend the album a sound that balances rawness with refinement, a blend that many fans still consider the peak of Joey Bada$$’s artistry.

For A-Reece, who has explored themes of introspection and detailed production in his own works like Paradise and Reece Effect, the connection is evident. He regards B4.DA.$$ as more than just songs; it is a comprehensive project that reveals new insights with every listen.

A-Reece’s comments reflect a refreshing perspective within hip hop culture. Instead of criticizing the US rapper’s body of work, the artist from Paradise expressed admiration and respect for the craft. While Joey maintains that the intention-driven nature of All-Amerikkkan Badass is paramount, A-Reece’s passionate support serves as a reminder of why B4.DA.$$ remains relevant.
