Mzansi’s comedy scene is gearing up for a resurgence! Trevor Noah made a significant announcement during a recent press conference, revealing his plans to return home and rejuvenate the comedy industry.<\/p>\n

Trevor Noah’s eagerly awaited comeback<\/h2>\n

The former host of The Daily Show with Trevor Noah<\/i> shared that he aims to rejuvenate the comedy scene in Mzansi. However, instead of planning a personal show or tour, he, along with two other prominent comedians from the region, will be hosting a nationwide festival, supported by Savanna.<\/p>\n

Via Instagram<\/a>, Noah disclosed that he has partnered with Eugene Khoza and Ntosh Madlingozi, forming the trio referred to as the Bafunny Bafunny.<\/p>\n

Set for September 2026, the festival will feature both local and international acts performing across three cities.<\/p>\n

“South Africa needs to laugh, and with Savanna, I\u2019m bringing just the team to do it! Bafunny Bafunny is South Africa\u2019s National Team of Comedy. 5 Shows, 3 Cities September 2026! I\u2019ve got Eugene Khoza confirmed, with many more local and international comedians to be announced. Tickets go on sale on 29 April!”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Confirmed venues include SunBet Arena and GrandWest Casino.<\/p>\n

In statements regarding the event, Eugene Khoza remarked, \u201cIt\u2019s a revival. A renaissance of South African comedy. Making it what it was, while focusing on the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for their roles, Trevor will assume the position of Captain, Eugene will be the Vice Captain, and Ntosh will act as the coach.<\/p>\n

\u201cServing you the finest comedians that you may not know about yet. Giving them a platform,\u201d they said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The gifted comedian, Trevor Noah, articulated their goal of ensuring audiences laugh until they are out of breath. \u201cIt\u2019s all about stand-up comedy. A physical comedy show, there is nothing like it. A grand scale of stand-up comedy that leaves you laughing until you cannot breathe,\u201d he shared.<\/p>\n

Mzansi eagerly anticipates this event. One supporter even mentioned, “No way, I actually searched online last night to see if you had any upcoming shows in South Africa. The Universe delivers at Checkers Sixty60 speed.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
