The hip-hop landscape in KwaZulu-Natal is poised for transformation as a collective known as Wave of the City, led by Paular Dlamini and Mduduzi Mtakwende (who goes by Bon Husla), collaborates with Cebo Khowa. <\/span><\/p>\n

This collective aims to foster collaboration beyond conventional approaches, connecting artists not only as individuals but also as a collective force dedicated to breaking down barriers in the KZN music industry, while providing avenues for growth, visibility, and community.<\/span><\/p>\n

In anticipation of a new album scheduled for release later this year, the group has launched their first track, an intense freestyle titled “Wavy 8,” produced by OB Magik. Drawing inspiration from the “Heavy 8” concept, this track serves as a robust introduction to their style, energy, and creative vision.<\/span><\/p>\n

The song features an impressive ensemble of artists, including veteran performers OB Magik<\/i>(Hood vs Hood S3 Man of the Season 2025) and Celestical Mic<\/i>(Hood vs Hood S3 Best Male 2025), both of whom have distinguished themselves with significant recognition, including a recent sync with Netflix. They are joined by Ayon<\/i>(Sportscene #Putmeon Runner-Up 2024) and Emdeeyou (BTTC 10K Challenge Winner 2025), who have emerged as strong contenders in the local scene, alongside Stone Itilongo <\/i>(Hood vs Hood S3 Best Newcomer 2025), a rising internet personality who introduces a unique voice to the collective.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Joining this impressive roster are emerging talents Bweezy, Ricco Tello<\/i>, and Legit G,<\/i> illustrating the blend of seasoned experience and innovative energy that characterizes Wave of the City.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Wavy 8” also paves the way for the upcoming Hood vs Hood: Squared Edition, spearheaded by Team Bon Husla, showcasing the strength of individual artists united under the motto: “8 Voices, No Mercy.”<\/span><\/p>\n
