The veteran actress Hlengiwe Lushaba Madlala is now part of the cast of Mzansi Magic’s upcoming telenovela KwaBaba <\/i> in her role as MaMbokazi.<\/p>\n

Madlala previously garnered attention for her performance as a commanding Zungu matriarch in the now-closed eTV telenovela House of Zwide<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Entertainment analyst Jabu McDonald announced on his X account <\/a> on 8 May 2026 that Madlala is part of the KwaBaba<\/i> cast.<\/p>\n

“<\/i>Former My Brother\u2019s Keeper<\/i> cast members reunite on Mzansi Magic\u2019s new 19:30 telenovela KwaBaba,<\/i> produced by Singa Vision, the company behind Genesis<\/i>. Hlengiwe Lushaba-Madlala, Lindani Nkosi, and Sparky Xulu have joined the new telenovela and will play members of the Mkhize family,” said McDonald.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

As reported by media sources, the story focuses on a young man who finds himself torn between love, familial obligations, and tradition, <\/i>and the show is set to debut on 01 June 2026 on Mzansi<\/p>\n

Joining the cast are popular actors Vuyo Biyela and Rorisang Mohapi-Grootboom.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Sowetan <\/i> on Tuesday, 12 May 2026,<\/i> Mashaba remarked that her character is a woman dedicated to prayer but also carries a significant history.<\/p>\n

“She is trying to rebuild herself through prayer, but sometimes prayer is a shield, instead of a healing place,” says the veteran star.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
