Media personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanya is said to be in custody once more. The Moja Love<\/i> star reportedly faced arrest on Sunday morning, June 14, 2026, after an Uber driver alleged that Jub Jub drew a gun on him and fired during a disturbance outside a residential complex.<\/p>\n

An official police report indicates that the incident took place around 7:30 AM at Emerald Sky Units in Edenvale.<\/p>\n

Africa Daily <\/i> reports that the Uber driver had just delivered a female passenger when the 45-year-old Uyajola 9\/9<\/i> host allegedly approached him, accusing him of having an affair with his girlfriend.<\/p>\n

As the driver attempted to leave, the encounter became threatening. The deeply shaken Uber driver informed police that Maarohanya, who is reportedly in a relationship with actress Vuyiseka Cawe, pulled out a gun and fired a shot at him.<\/p>\n

Fearing for his safety, the driver quickly went to a nearby police station to report the incident. Thankfully, there were no reported injuries, but law enforcement responded swiftly to secure the area.<\/p>\n

Police found one empty cartridge on the premises, and an elite SAPS K9 unit was dispatched to search for the weapon. Despite Jub Jub’s claims of not owning a firearm, forensics and ballistics teams from the Local Criminal Record Centre have already processed the scene.<\/p>\n

An attempted murder case has been officially filed at the Edenvale Police Station, with the television star remaining in custody.<\/p>\n

This latest incident thrusts Jub Jub back into the spotlight, but not in a favorable light. The rapper-turned-presenter first gained notoriety in 2010 after being involved in a fatal drag-racing accident that resulted in the death of four school children in Soweto.<\/p>\n

After serving a four-year sentence for culpable homicide, Jub Jub was released and revived his career as the face of Moja Love<\/i>.<\/p>\n

In 2023, he faced significant backlash after several former partners accused him of sexual and physical assault.<\/p>\n
