The first group of Malawians was successfully returned to their home country, arriving safely on 9 June 2026.<\/p>\n

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Monday, 15 June, eight buses transporting 645 Malawian nationals left South Africa under a voluntary repatriation program.<\/p>\n
This group is anticipated to reach Kazungu Stadium on Wednesday, 17 June, where health assessments and other necessary evaluations will take place before they return to their communities.<\/p>\n
Although hundreds are on their way home, many thousands are still in need of assistance.<\/p>\n
The Malawian government has yet to reveal the total amount of financial support or donations received in response to its call for aid.<\/p>\n
