Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye, a well-known television host, has addressed the media after his recent court session at the Germiston Magistrate’s Court. The artist had earlier been granted R5,000 bail by the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg following concerns over delays in his original court date.<\/p>\n

On June 22, 2026, Jub Jub, who is 45 years old, made his first court appearance facing charges of firing a weapon in a public location and “pointing anything likely to lead a person to believe that it is a firearm.” His bail has been extended until August 24, 2026, to allow for additional investigations.<\/p>\n

Following his court session, the Uyajola 9\/9<\/i> host spoke to the press. Jub Jub expressed his astonishment at certain allegations associated with the case, emphasizing his faith, suggesting he believes that the truth will ultimately emerge.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just shocked at the allegations that I kidnapped and that my girlfriend is dating an Uber driver. I don\u2019t know, man. For me, I’m just complying, appearing and doing what it is. In all cases, anything related to me, it’s always God first anyway, before I step into the room, it’s always God,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The artist argued that the accusations may have been fabricated to tarnish his reputation. He maintained his confidence in the legal process, asserting that he believes that justice will be served.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cSo, if anybody’s trying to put things together and maybe formulate something or whatever, it\u2019s fine. It is what it is. God is there, and the truth shall prevail,\u201d Jub Jub stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

When queried about his expectations regarding the charges, Jub Jub remarked that the final decision rests with the judiciary. He hinted at feeling targeted unfairly.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not a judge. I\u2019m not a lawyer. I am just an accused, like every other black successful man,\u201d he replied.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Despite assertions from the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) that a pellet gun was confiscated from his home during his arrest and investigation, Jub Jub firmly denied that any firearm was involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s no gun,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The court noted that the matter is classified as a Schedule 5 offence due to Jub Jub\u2019s previous conviction.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
