The event coordinators indicated that they have experienced significant public backlash and direct threats stemming from claims that they have enabled sexual violence and obstructed justice.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The applicants have been subjected to abuse and accused of enabling rape by members of the public. The first and second applicants have received threats from certain sections of the public arising directly from these allegations.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"align-left\">The conflict originated from an episode of <i>Podcast and Chill<\/i> that aired on or around June 1, 2026. They contend that the claims have not only placed them in a precarious situation but have also stripped them of their ability to enforce workplace standards. Additionally, they caution that ongoing falsehoods could deter corporate sponsors, venue partners, and artists from future collaborations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"align-left\">Court documents indicate that tensions escalated after the podcasters supposedly disregarded a formal request from the event organisers&#8217; legal counsel, demanding a full retraction and apology. Instead, the plaintiffs assert that the respondents chose to reiterate the defamatory remarks, highlighting what they categorize as &#8220;malicious intent.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The respondents have been obdurate in their refusal. In fact, they have repeated the statements.
