Softfootball reports that Chelsea is steadfast in their pursuit of Pep Chavarría, as talks persist following the refusal of their initial offer for the left-back.

Despite the setback, the club is not deterred and has arranged for another series of discussions as they seek to finalize a deal with Chavarría’s current team.

Fortunately for Chelsea, it has been made clear by the player that he is eager to join the club. Chavarría is keen to play for the Stamford Bridge outfit and is enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with new head coach Xabi Alonso, which gives the Premier League side hope that an agreement is within reach.

Revamping the left-back position is a key focus for Chelsea this summer following Marc Cucurella’s departure to Real Madrid. The club has explored multiple options, with Chavarría standing out as a significant target.

Chelsea is likely to present a revised offer soon as negotiations progress between the clubs. Club officials are hopeful that a resolution can be achieved despite their first proposal being turned down.

With the player in full support of the transfer and talks still active, Chelsea aims to advance soon in their efforts to rebuild the squad for the 2026/27 season under Alonso.
