The post quickly became popular, reigniting discussions among fans about a prominent feud in South African hip-hop. Beyond the viral interaction, Ex Global elaborated on his belief that moving on is not an option.

The rapper stated his concerns are not simply about remaining resentful. Instead, he highlighted unresolved issues regarding royalties and feelings of betrayal by someone he once aided during difficult periods.

Ex Global asserted he significantly supported A-Reece in the beginnings of his career. He mentioned taking the rapper in after A-Reece faced eviction from his brother’s home and even offered to finance his music crew while already accommodating several others.

“I helped him when his own brother kicked him out, and he had nowhere to go, and got money to fund his crew,” he wrote.

He continued to detail how his support went beyond mere shelter. Ex Global also stated he funded music videos for tracks such as Tell Me What You Want, 420, and On My Own. Additionally, he assisted with housing documentation and helped set up a studio where A-Reece worked on projects that would later solidify his status in the independent rap scene.

“We were already 6 in the house, then he brought 1000 Degrees to live with us. I got music video money for “Tell Me What You Want,” “420,” and “On My Own,” to name a few, also papers to provide a roof for his crew and him, a studio to record all those albums, EPs, and mixtapes that you all love,” he added.

Never chat, I won’t! Reece did me wrong, and to this day I haven’t seen my Reece Effect royalties, nor my royalties from I’m Only 21 on Karma, among other things, after I helped him when his own brother kicked him out and he had nowhere to go, and got money to fund his crew. Despite his contributions, Ex Global claims he has not received payments for projects such as Reece Effect and the And I’m Only 21 EP, which includes their collaboration, “Karma.” Such claims seem to be the core reason for his unwillingness to move forward.

The conflict between the two is longstanding, becoming pronounced after the dissolution of The Wrecking Crew in 2018. This has led to a series of public disputes, disagreements over royalties, diss tracks, and contentious interactions on social media.

Ex Global’s recent comments have fostered division within the hip-hop community. While some fans believe he should let go of the past, others argue artists must advocate for equitable compensation regardless of elapsed time.

This situation also highlights broader issues in South Africa’s music industry, where financial disputes and disagreements over business arrangements commonly strain relationships between artists who once collaborated closely.

A-Reece has not publicly responded to Ex Global’s latest claims at the time of this report.

For Ex Global, the principle remains straightforward. He will not consider moving on until he feels that questions surrounding royalties and loyalty have been adequately addressed.
