The highly anticipated appearance of Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) head Advocate Andrea Johnson before the Madlanga Commission was unexpectedly postponed on Monday after it emerged that she had been rushed to hospital on Sunday night.<\/p>\n

This sudden turn of events halted the Commission’s proceedings, requiring an adjournment that delayed what was expected to be one of the inquiry’s most significant testimonies.<\/p>\n

Johnson was scheduled to address questions related to evidence that had already been presented to the Commission, including claims about IDAC’s operations and its interactions with other law enforcement bodies. Her testimony was anticipated to clarify issues that have garnered considerable public interest.<\/p>\n

Recent hearings have included testimony regarding senior IDAC investigator Suneel Bellochun, who is facing accusations of extorting money from foreign shopkeepers.<\/p>\n

Bellochun has yet to be proven guilty of any criminal charges, and the claims are still under scrutiny.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Johnson is expected to address accusations of misconduct and claims that she interfered in an assault case linked to suspended Crime Intelligence deputy head Major General Feroz Khan.<\/p>\n

Johnson\u2019s testimony is anticipated to shed light on the dynamics among the country’s primary law enforcement agencies and how they managed various high-profile investigations.<\/p>\n

The Commission highlighted that all claims made during the hearings are subject to ongoing assessment. No definitive conclusions have been drawn regarding any of the individuals involved.<\/p>\n
