Darwin Núñez has not secured a deal with Besiktas or Trabzonspor, despite earlier speculation about a transfer to either Turkish club involving the forward from Al Hilal.

Sources indicate that Núñez did not have any travel arrangements, as the Uruguayan international was still weighing his options in both Saudi Arabia and Europe.

The forward is now on the brink of a transfer to Al Diriyah from Al Hilal, with discussions progressing towards a conclusion.

This development concludes the rumors of a potential partnership with former Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah at Trabzonspor, where Salah has already transitioned from the Premier League to the Turkish club.

Softfootball previously noted that Núñez was a candidate for a move to Trabzonspor, with various reports suggesting that the Turkish team was looking into the possibility of reuniting the former Liverpool players.

Núñez transferred to Al Hilal from Liverpool on 9 August 2025 for a fee of €53 million, excluding any bonuses.

He now seems poised for another transition, with Al Diriyah emerging as the most likely next stop as negotiations near their conclusion.
