Cassper Nyovest showed great humility as he celebrated Grammy winner Tyla on the L-Tido Podcast, a moment that resonated well with fans across Mzansi.

Set against a backdrop of modern decor with green walls and a well-equipped bar, Cassper and Tyla sat in a relaxed environment, using boom microphones for their engaging exchange. Cassper’s open admiration for Tyla was a highlight of the discussion, propelling the segment into the limelight.

Cassper refers to Tyla as ‘our father’

During their conversation, Cassper took a moment to adjust his tone after casually mentioning Tyla, briefly lowering his voice in a show of respect. What followed was a heartfelt tribute that left podcast host L-Tido and online audiences delighted. He remarked:

“Guys, Tyla is not our mother; she’s our father. As African entertainers, her name should be Uncle Waffles. Tyla is our uncle, our father. She’s doing everything that we wish we could do. She’s out there at the Met Gala. That’s twice now. Clapping them twice in the room.”

He also shared that Tyla is an idol for him, noting that many in the African artistic community feel a similar reverence but may hesitate to express it openly. He said:

“Boys, Tyla is what every African artist wishes to be. She’s definitely my idol. Like, I look up to Tyla. And I know a lot of you would never say it, but in your bedrooms, you’re saying it.”

Cassper went on to confess that he would be completely awestruck if he met Tyla in real life. He emphasized that his veneration is purely that of a fan, acknowledging that Tyla has been responsive to his DMs and is notably humble. He concluded:

“As a fan, I wouldn’t like to pretend that Tyla and I flirt. I’m a fan. I’m there. Congrats girl. I show my wife. I’m a Tyla fan for real.”
