In an update on Instagram, Lordkez shared this exciting announcement with her followers. “Covergirl for @applemusic ALPHA playlist! The playlist features my track 4SHO + other tracks from amazing female artists,” she mentioned. She echoed the playlist’s ethos nearly verbatim: “Alpha is a space for redefining the meaning of a woman’s power. Power doesn’t have to be about fighting, standing up or changing history. The power of these artists lies in their existence. From there flows truth, authenticity, vulnerability, nuanced representation. And I’m so grateful to be featured.”

This acknowledgment comes at a pivotal time in her career. Lordkez, born Keziah Zoë Meyers in Kimberley and now residing in Johannesburg, has established herself as an artist known for her innovative, genre-crossing R&B that intertwines nostalgic elements with modern influences. Her debut album Testament, released in 2023, won a South African Music Award for Best R&B/Soul Album. Following that, she dropped the 2025 project You, Me & The 90’s, achieving significant success with the track “Aweh” and its remix featuring Cassper Nyovest, made her COLORS debut, and continues to broaden her live performances both locally and internationally.

“4SHO,” released on 21 August 2026, uniquely combines her smooth and confident vocal style with Kwesta’s compelling storytelling. This collaboration feels authentic, embodying a seamless fusion of two distinct South African voices, and its feature as the current highlight on Alpha provides the song with global exposure.

Apple Music’s Alpha, sometimes referred to as Alpha Women in different regions, serves as a continual platform for female artists whose strength is expressed through their presence, honesty, and diverse creativity, rather than just through direct confrontation. The playlist frequently updates its cover artists and showcases a wide variety of women from different genres and backgrounds. Lordkez’s cover selection places a rising South African artist into a significant global dialogue.

For an artist dedicated to genuine emotional expression in her music, this feature is particularly apt. As she articulated, the showcased power is the subtle yet formidable type that comes from simply existing and crafting art on one’s own terms. Fans can find “4SHO” along with the current selections from Alpha available now on Apple Music.
