South African artist Jay Jody has discussed the inspiration behind \u201cNaledi,\u201d the newest track from Cool & Black, his collaborative endeavor with Blaklez. This single showcases their partnership alongside the skilled vocalist Miss Ready, with production by Junior and mixing and mastering by Chris Owan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jay Jody noted that the track started with a beat picked by Blaklez, who incorporated Junior’s production. \u201cI would like to give a shout-out to Blaklez for choosing that beat. It\u2019s a Junior beat, which is the same guy who produced Gemstones. Yeah, man, he sent me that beat, and I immediately agreed that, yeah, we should do something to this,\u201d<\/em> Jay Jody stated.<\/p>\n

The collaboration evolved in the studio as Jay Jody described laying down their verses prior to Miss Ready’s arrival, who contributed the hook that defined the track.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think we both laced our verses, and then Miss Ready pulled up with a fire hook,\u201d<\/em> he commented.<\/p>\n

The session also marked the first encounter between Jay Jody and Miss Ready. Rather than spending time to establish a creative connection, the two artists quickly formed a rapport during what Jay Jody referred to as a studio camp.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe pulled through. She did her thing, man. It was the first time we met her, and we just vibed. We clicked. We made dope music,\u201d<\/em> he reminisced.<\/p>\n

The significance of \u201cNaledi\u201d is further amplified by the fact that the studio session yielded more than just the single. Jay Jody mentioned that the collaboration resulted in additional tracks, suggesting that their partnership may continue beyond this release.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s actually more music, you know, that we cooked up with her,\u201d<\/em> he revealed.<\/p>\n
