Como is among the teams looking into Robert Sánchez as a possible goalkeeper option, as uncertainty looms over the Chelsea goalkeeper’s future.

Softfootball reports that Sánchez could leave Chelsea this summer, with multiple clubs examining the potential terms of a transfer.

The interest from Como arises as goalkeeper Tornqvist seems set to move to Monza, leading to a potential need for another player in goal.

Nonetheless, the club’s immediate focus remains on acquiring a striker, with plans for a goalkeeper being reviewed only after their attacking strategies are settled.

Chelsea has already taken steps to bolster their goalkeeper position with the impending signing of Emiliano Martínez from Aston Villa.

Three days ago, Softfootball reported that Chelsea had reached a verbal agreement with Villa for Martínez in a deal worth £7.5 million, following Aston Villa’s acquisition of Zion Suzuki from Parma.

The decision to sign Martínez comes after a challenging start to the season for Sánchez, whose initial mistakes have intensified calls for Chelsea to enhance their goalkeeping options.

In their last match, Chelsea upheld their unbeaten record under Xabi Alonso with a thrilling 4-3 win over Brighton at Stamford Bridge. However, the match proved more taxing than the score suggested, as Brighton applied significant pressure. Emiliano Martinez played a vital role, making several key saves to deny Fabian Hurzeler’s team a comeback.

Martínez’s impending arrival might speed up Sánchez’s exit, with Como now keeping an eye on his status.

The acquisition of the seasoned Argentina international indicates that Sánchez may not feature in Xabi Alonso’s future plans.

Currently, Como is reviewing the goalkeeper’s availability while prioritizing their search for a forward. Several other clubs are also interested, suggesting Sánchez’s situation could change rapidly as the transfer window nears its end.
