Nota Questions the Role of Zoocci Coke Dope: “Who the F* Is Zoocci?” Nota Baloyi has sparked discussion about influence and stature in the South African hip-hop scene during a recent episode of Music Pulse while targeting producer and rapper Zoocci Coke Dope.

“Like who the f*** is Zoocci, dog? … We don’t even consider when we think about ourselves up there at the top. We don’t even think that there’s a person who is called Zoocci that exists,” Nota expressed during the segment.

The candid music executive conceded that while Zoocci enjoys significant popularity among younger demographics, he asserted that such fame does not equate to recognition from the industry’s leading figures.

Zoocci has established himself as a key player in the evolution of contemporary SA trap and hip-hop. He has collaborated with notable artists like Nasty C, A-Reece, and Blxckie, and his well-known producer tag, “Zoocci Coke Dope! He’s the dealer,” has resonated with listeners.

These recent remarks revive previous discord between Nota and Zoocci. In 2021, Zoocci openly criticized Nota following comments the latter made regarding South African artists, accusing him of “getting lost in things you don’t know” and advising him to “play safe.” Nota retaliated with a jab directed at Zoocci.

In addition to the controversy, Zoocci’s career is marked by several honors, significant production credits, and projects such as Anxiety and Anxiety+. His contributions have garnered acclaim from both fans and fellow artists, especially within the emerging wave of South African hip-hop.
