Instead of opting for some of Tupac’s most commercially successful songs, PdotO delved deeper into his discography. This choice highlights a dimension of Tupac that often gets overlooked, emphasizing the vulnerability and self-reflection that defined his music and connected with audiences for years.

These selections also demonstrate PdotO’s enduring respect for Tupac beyond his music. The versatile artist has discussed Shakur’s impact on his own life, particularly how the late rapper navigated between music and acting. This versatility inspired PdotO’s pursuit of drama studies, seeing the potential for a multifaceted career.

Each song on the list carries significant emotional depth. “Staring at the World thru my Rearview” reflects on survival and the harsh realities of street life, while “Life Goes On” addresses grief and the struggle to move forward after a loss. “Unconditional Love” touches on themes of loyalty, and “So Many Tears” confronts pain, regret, and internal conflict.

“Hold Ya Head” offers a powerful message of resilience and support for people facing tough situations. This song features on Tupac’s posthumous album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory, which was released under his Makaveli persona.

For PdotO, these five songs signify more than just favorites. They encapsulate the qualities he admires in Tupac’s artistry: emotional sincerity, storytelling, and the ability to transform personal experiences into music that resonates widely.

That connection is particularly relevant considering PdotO’s own body of work, characterized by introspection and meaningful content. With eight studio albums, including Take It As You May, he has established an identity focused on depth and personal expression.

Nearly thirty years after Tupac’s passing, his music continues to find relevance among artists globally. For PdotO, these five selections seem to reflect the essence of Tupac’s legacy that resonates the most: the power to face pain, reflect on the past, and find motivation to keep progressing.
