In a recent Instagram post, the brothers apologized to their fans for the delay in the song’s release. “Sorry for the wait ❤️,” they stated, finally acknowledging the anticipation surrounding their forthcoming single. This track, produced by Koolb Xclsv in collaboration with Ayo Mush, unites Majorsteez with two notable rising stars from South Africa’s hip-hop scene.

Fans of the artists can look forward to the official release of “Mshini Wam” on Friday, 18 September.

The song draws inspiration from the well-known “Umshini wami” chant, suggesting that Majorsteez will reinterpret this cultural reference in a modern context. The collaboration promises a fresh record focused on the vibe of a contemporary generation.

Sastii and Lowfeye, who are both part of The Qwellers, will bring their burgeoning talents to the track. Sastii has been gaining attention with his South Coast Yungin’ Never Follows mixtape, while Lowfeye is raising his profile with deeply felt and lyrically impactful songs, including his debut album NOSANGE.

The fusion of their styles with Majorsteez’s established R&B-infused hip-hop creates an interesting blend, integrating the brothers’ signature sound with the raw, vibrant energy of South Africa’s underground scene.

Koolb Xclsv, who has collaborated with Majorsteez on past projects, continues to lend his expertise. His production style, which balances smoothness with street authenticity, paired with Ayo Mush’s involvement, creates a musical environment conducive to showcasing each artist’s unique strengths.

Sihle and Sandile Mabena, collectively known as Majorsteez, have established their name by adeptly transitioning between soothing R&B tracks and more assertive hip-hop expressions. Their discography includes singles like “Asbonge,” “The Wedding Song,” “Angeke,” and “Too Much Aura”, reflecting their versatility.

“Mshini Wam” is set to enhance this impressive portfolio, particularly with the addition of Sastii and Lowfeye collaborating with the Mabena brothers.
