Softfootball reports that pressure is escalating on Roberto De Zerbi at Tottenham Hotspur following a troubling start to the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Tottenham has not managed to secure a win in their first three league matches and, even more alarmingly, they have yet to score any goals in the Premier League this season.

In their most recent match against Nottingham Forest, Tottenham played to a goalless draw. This result marked the third league game in a row where De Zerbi’s team has been unable to score.

The 0-0 result also places Tottenham among a select group of teams that have begun a Premier League season without finding the net in their first three games, raising significant concerns about their offensive output under the management of De Zerbi.

Reports indicate that Tottenham is dissatisfied with these results, leading to increasing scrutiny of De Zerbi’s role.

The former Brighton coach faces a crucial test with the upcoming match against Everton. Another loss could amplify the scrutiny regarding his future with the club.

Earlier in the season, Spurs faced a significant setback when Newcastle United defeated them 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, marking Tottenham’s second consecutive defeat in the Premier League.

That defeat followed an unfulfilling opening match and highlighted the challenges De Zerbi’s team is encountering defensively and offensively.

Tottenham’s failure to score has emerged as a primary concern. While adjustments can sometimes remedy defensive issues, struggling to register a league goal over three matches indicates deeper complications in their attack.

The draw against Nottingham Forest was particularly disappointing as Forest is also winless under Oliver Glasner, having only secured one victory in their last 13 home league games, yet Tottenham could not capitalize.

With the match against Everton looming, De Zerbi finds himself at a crucial juncture in his career with the club.

A win could offer some relief and allow the manager to foster a sense of confidence within the team. However, a loss would leave Spurs without a Premier League victory after four games, potentially intensifying scrutiny from the club’s leadership.

For a Tottenham team anticipated to perform at a higher standard, their current performance has been disappointing, and immediate improvement is necessary to avoid further difficulties in the future.
