Kylian Mbappé has lauded his Real Madrid colleague Yan Diomande, asserting that the promising player has shown the skills necessary to thrive at the prestigious club, irrespective of the substantial transfer fee linked to his signing.

Fede Valverde also recently commended Diomande after Real Madrid’s thrilling win against Elche, emphasizing the Ivorian winger’s prowess in one-on-one situations. The Uruguayan player mentioned the confidence he and his teammates have in Diomande, referencing the pivotal assist he provided for Mbappé during the match.

Softfootball indicates that Diomande transferred to Real Madrid from RB Leipzig for a record fee that could ascend to €140 million, situating the 19-year-old among the most expensive acquisitions in the club’s history. In spite of the expectations brought about by his transfer fee, Diomande has started to display his capabilities, having gained more playing time and provided an assist against Elche.

Mbappé opined that the focus on the transfer fee should not impose undue pressure on the young player. He highlighted that Diomande remains early in his career yet has already demonstrated sufficient quality to justify the faith placed in him.

The Real Madrid captain also underscored the necessity of nurturing young talent as they adjust to the challenges of competing alongside seasoned players. With the season still in its early stages, Mbappé is convinced that contributions from the entire squad will be essential, rather than solely depending on their regular starters.

Diomande’s development will be monitored closely, but the encouragement from established players like Mbappé and Valverde signifies a strong level of trust within the team. The Ivorian now aims to enhance his recent performances and secure a vital role in José Mourinho’s Real Madrid lineup.
