DJ Maphorisa has expressed gratitude to his fans, known as Chillers, following the success of his recent appearance on Podcast and Chill with MacG. In a generous move, the Amapiano artist has decided to provide free tickets for fans to join the upcoming Road to 2 Million concert.

In the latest episode of Podcast and Chill aired on 28 September 2026, host MacG shared that Maphorisa personally contacted him in response to the positive feedback about his appearance. The DJ had been somewhat reluctant to join the platform for a number of years, making the warm reception from viewers particularly impactful.

“I was speaking to Madumane yesterday, and he is so happy with the love he has received, because he has been sceptical for a number of years about coming on the platform. So when he came, the love he has been seeing has been insane,” MacG said.

As soon as the episode was released, it garnered significant attention, achieving one million views within the first 24 hours. By 30 September, the total view count surpassed two million, underscoring the high interest in Maphorisa’s long-anticipated appearance.

MacG indicated that the overwhelming response has altered Maphorisa’s view of the Podcast and Chill community. To reciprocate the support, the DJ wanted to extend an opportunity to the Chillers to be part of the podcast’s upcoming celebration.

“He said the love from the streets has been crazy; people have a different point of view of him. He wants to thank the Chillers and he is giving away free tickets to Road to 2 Million,” MacG revealed.

The Road to 2 Million concert is set for 12 December at the GrandWest Arena in Cape Town. This event will commemorate the podcast’s journey toward achieving two million subscribers, following its milestone celebration for one million subscribers in 2023.

Maphorisa’s guest appearance was highly awaited, especially since he had not participated in the platform for several years. During the conversation, he discussed various facets of his career and the controversies that have surrounded his role in the South African music scene.

Key topics included his notable conflicts with Nota Baloyi and Samthing Soweto, and claims that he functions as a gatekeeper within the Amapiano genre. His participation allowed viewers to gain insight into his point of view directly.

The positive reception of the episode has gone beyond mere viewership, as Maphorisa has chosen to acknowledge the audience that welcomed him to the platform.

As Podcast and Chill continues on its path toward two million subscribers, the Road to 2 Million concert is poised to be another significant occasion for the platform. For the Chillers, Maphorisa’s initiative contributes to an already memorable moment from a landmark episode.
