What transpired at Suikerbosrand was not unexpected for those familiar with the artist’s journey. Over time, Big Zulu has built a reputation that transcends his unique musical style. He is often viewed as an artist who recognizes and values the support he receives, and his actions at the festival illustrated that connection vividly in front of a live crowd.

For each fan that joined him on stage, it symbolized more than just a fleeting photo moment. It served as a poignant reminder that exceptional experiences can emerge when someone with influence shares their platform.

![]("https://cdn.briefly.co.za/images/360/8f021b9068ab0e9e.jpeg?v=1")

Big Zulu’s community initiatives

This event is not the first instance of the rapper leveraging his platform for community empowerment. In December 2025, Briefly News reported on his Big Zulu Soccer Tournament, an initiative rooted in his community which aims to combat drug and alcohol abuse among youth. The tournament indicates his long-term commitment to contributing positively beyond just making music.

The moments he created at Rooted Fest, although brief, will undoubtedly resonate with the fans who shared the stage with him for a lifetime.

Watch one of the performances here.
