The leader of the EFF, Julius Malema, has attracted attention after his conversation with Nandi Madida for The Motherhood Network’s Election Series, inviting public engagement.

On Friday, 16 October 2026, the Economic Freedom Fighters announced on X that Malema recorded a podcast episode with Madida, where he outlined his vision for the nation, particularly regarding mothers and children, ahead of the 4 November 2026 Local Government Elections.

Motherhood Network’s election series

The Motherhood Network initiated its Election Series to create a direct line of communication between South African mothers and political leaders asking for their votes. This effort facilitates discussions with party leaders from various political backgrounds as the elections approach.

Malema’s participation marks him as the second guest in the election series. Herman Mashaba from Action SA was the first guest, with his episode releasing on 11 October 2026. The inclusion of Malema indicates the aim of the platform to cover a broad spectrum of political views within South Africa.

The EFF shared details of the interview on X, stating: “President @Julius_S_Malema had a sit-down conversation with Ms Nandi Madida on the Motherhood Network podcast. The President shared his vision for South Africa, Mothers, and Children. Don’t miss it. #VoteEFF2026 #VictoryOrDeath.”
