Acclaimed South African singer Vusi Nova unveiled his profoundly heartfelt new single, Asinilibelanga, on Friday, 30 October 2026. The song serves as a poignant homage to musicians, entertainers, and cultural figures who have passed, yet continue to influence the nation’s musical and cultural scene.

This release follows his well-received track Asiphelelanga, revisiting concepts of loss, remembrance, and the lasting essence of music. With Asinilibelanga, Vusi Nova encourages South Africans to honor the contributions and memories of those who have enriched the country’s musical heritage.

“We have lost so many beautiful souls who gave so much of themselves to our music, our culture and our lives. Their voices may be silent, but what they contributed to this country will never disappear. They gave us songs that became part of our stories, moments that brought us together and memories that we will carry forever,” says Vusi Nova.

“With Asinilibelanga, I want us to remember them not only with sadness, but with gratitude and celebration. This festive season, when we sing and dance, let us do so in their honour. Let us celebrate the lives they lived, the joy they gave us and the legacies they left behind. We have not forgotten them, and we never will.”

Merging sincere emotion with a spirit of festivity, Asinilibelanga prompts listeners to honor their beloved stars through music, dance, and remembrance. It reflects on the sorrow of losing influential figures while simultaneously celebrating the lasting impact of their artistry.

The new track is launched during Vusi Nova’s Here to Stay National Tour, a concert series that commemorates ten years of his influential album Naninina while showcasing his recent EP, Here to Stay.

Organized by Nova Sounds, the tour kicked off at The Ridge in Emalahleni on Saturday, 17 October, featuring performances from supporting acts Kwanda and 047. Following this, the tour moves to Tshwane on 6 November, with shows scheduled for Cape Town on 13 and 14 November, and Gqeberha on 21 and 22 November.

For Vusi Nova, the single and the tour signify the enduring connection between music, memory, and the individuals who bring songs to life. The tour seeks to celebrate his artistic journey and the bond he shares with his audience, while Asinilibelanga serves as a tribute to the artists and cultural figures who shape South Africa’s rich narrative.

As the festive season nears, the release emphasizes that remembering and celebrating can coexist. Although those we’ve loved may no longer be with us, their creativity and impact persist through the music and experiences they have imparted.

With Asinilibelanga, Vusi Nova calls on the nation to reflect, celebrate, and preserve their legacies.
