Softfootball reports that Chelsea is planning to loan out young striker Marc Guiu ahead of the new season. The club aims to provide him with more consistent playing time given the fierce competition in their attacking lineup.<\/p>\n

The 19-year-old forward, who joined from Barcelona last summer for just \u20ac6 million, has seen limited action at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

Although he made only a few appearances in the Premier League last season, he did manage to impress in Europe, scoring six goals in seven matches during Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League campaign, notably including a hat-trick against Shamrock Rovers.<\/p>\n

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared the club’s intentions on his official X account<\/a>, stating:<\/p>\n

\u201cChelsea have initiated discussions for a loan move for Marc Guiu, but there will be no buy option.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe club’s priority is to secure a loan in England, as they want Guiu to develop and gain experience playing in England next season.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Guiu was largely sidelined during the latter part of the season due to injury but made a timely return, coming off the bench in the Conference League final. He is currently part of the Blues squad competing in the FIFA Club World Cup and has made two substitute appearances during their U.S. preseason tour.<\/p>\n

However, his chances of securing regular first-team action have become even more challenging with the arrivals of Liam Delap and Jo\u00e3o Pedro. Consequently, Chelsea views a loan spell as the optimal step for his development.<\/p>\n

Ipswich Town has expressed interest in Guiu, while Strasbourg\u2014Chelsea’s affiliate in Ligue 1\u2014could also be a possible destination. However, with Kendry Paez and Mathis Amougou already slated to move there, only one loan spot is available, which the club may prefer to reserve for goalkeeper Mike Penders.<\/p>\n

Despite enhancing their attack with three new signings, Chelsea is reportedly still on the lookout for more players, including Dutch midfield talent Xavi Simons and Lyon’s Malick Fofana.<\/p>\n

With plans to maintain a squad of nine forwards, any further additions may necessitate at least one departure. Chelsea’s next moves in the transfer market could significantly depend on player turnover.<\/p>\n
