Relebogile Mabotja, a seasoned broadcaster, became the focus of a viral incident after a visit to a nail salon escalated into an unsettling confrontation with a man, raising important issues around respect and safety.
On her Twitter (X) and Instagram accounts on Wednesday, 17 November 2025, Relebogile shared footage of the incident where the unidentified white man entered the salon demanding a refund due to dissatisfaction with his wife’s manicure.
“The staff tried to address his issue as he said he wants his money back because his wife’s nails look horrible, but couldn’t even say who she was. All he did was verbally abuse them. Who is he?”
The Untied host included a clip of her confrontation with the man, during which she revealed his face and the license plates of his vehicle.
She noted that while defending the salon staff from his insults, the situation took a turn as the man’s ire was directed at her.
At the conclusion of the video, he attempted to seize Relebogile’s phone to prevent her from recording. In a following clip, she described the confrontational episode further.
“He took my phone; luckily, the security guard managed to get it back for me. He was calling me names and insulting me.”
The award-winning broadcaster expressed her determination not to remain a silent witness to such behavior, stating there was “no way” she would allow a stranger to verbally abuse female staff without taking a stand.
