Who is Rymir Satterthwaite?
Rymir Satterthwaite, a 30-year-old from New Jersey, has gained media attention as the young man who claims to be Jay-Z’s offspring.

The claims against Jay-Z
On May 3, 2025, Rymir filed a lawsuit stating that Jay-Z had a relationship with his late mother, Wanda Satterthwaite, in the 1990s when she was just 16 years old. The lawsuit does not seek child support; instead, it requests damages for emotional distress, harm to reputation, absence of financial support, and legal fees. This is among a series of claims that Jay-Z has faced this past year.
Rymir disclosed that his mother, Wanda, spent 20 years attempting to establish that Jay-Z was his biological father. A video shared with Radar Online in 2016 showed Wanda vocally supporting her son’s claims and naming Jay-Z as his father.
In 2011, Wanda’s health began to decline, resulting in Rymir’s godmother, Lillie Coley, becoming responsible for his care. Wanda eventually passed away in 2016, leaving Coley to provide Rymir with legal assistance.
Is Jay-Z the father?
In light of the recent allegations, Jay-Z has taken a strong stance, declaring the accusations to be untrue. Court documents obtained recently by E! News indicate that on June 16, the lawsuit has been described as yet another instance of harassment from Satterthwaite and Coley. The situation has led to a contempt order due to the frequency of the filings.
Currently, Jay-Z has not confirmed any claims of paternity in public forums. Furthermore, no legal determination has confirmed him as Rymir’s biological father.
Rymir drops lawsuit against Jay-Z
Recently, Rymir Satterthwaite has dropped his lawsuit against Jay-Z.
In an Instagram update published on July 27, 2025, Rymir stated:
I just want to get on here and let everybody know the updates, what’s going on. It’s been a crazy couple of weeks y’all. I’m gonna let y’all know I have not stopped my fight. You know, I did withdraw my case, it’s for a reason y’all. It’s not because I’m stopping with it or not going to refile it or anything. It’s just a lot going on behind closed doors. Hey, we gotta step back and play chess, not checkers.
Based on the video’s content, Rymir seems to imply that outside influences led him to withdraw the lawsuit. However, the legitimacy of these claims, including Rymir’s assertions of paternity, remains uncertain.
