Penny Ntuli has raised concerns among her audience following her abrupt absence from Jozi FM, where she has not appeared on air for more than a week.
The well-known radio personality was absent from her usual slot from 9 am to 12 pm on Monday, which led fans and coworkers to wonder about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
Her absence has led to various rumors, especially since neither listeners nor staff have received any updates regarding her situation.
Those familiar with Ntuli’s circumstances suggest there could be conflicts involving her relationship with the station, although the specifics remain unknown.
Insiders indicate that her continued presence at Jozi FM may be in jeopardy.
“I wish to understand why staff are not informed if it is something small. Are people notified if it is really just a minor issue?” said one source familiar with the matter.
Her unexpected exit has also brought back memories of her prior departure from Gagasi FM, which gained attention when she disclosed she was offered a contract valued at R2,800.
This revelation led to public discontent, with listeners and supporters alleging that the station treated its presenters unfairly.
Adding to the intrigue, there are suggestions that Ntuli may already be looking into alternative opportunities.
Reports claim that she has been seeking contact information for programme managers at other radio stations within Johannesburg.
“Last Sunday she had been calling around, asking for the contact details of a radio programme manager based in Johannesburg,” another source said.
A colleague who preferred to remain anonymous mentioned they reached out to Ntuli out of concern but received vague responses.
“I phoned her, worried, but she beat around the bush and did not give a clear answer. Who knows, maybe she is just preparing for a wedding,” the source said.
