
New information has surfaced regarding the homicide investigation of well-known presenter DJ Warras, whose real name is Warrick Stock. This comes as a Mozambican citizen accused in the case made a court appearance.
The accused, 25-year-old Armindo Joaquim Pacula, was presented at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 2 February 2026.
Pacula was detained on Friday, 30 January, marking him as the second suspect involved in the deadly shooting of DJ Warras, who lost his life in the Johannesburg central business district on Tuesday, 16 December 2026.
His court appearance triggered significant discourse on social media, with numerous users questioning if the individual present in court resembled the person depicted in available CCTV footage from the evening of the incident.
The footage featured a suspect with dreadlocks, while Pacula appeared to have a more polished hairstyle during the proceedings.
In response to the rising speculation, the South African Police Service offered clarification about the situation.
According to the police, Pacula allegedly removed his dreadlocks prior to his arrest. Authorities informed the court that the dreadlocks were located inside a shack in Primrose, where the suspect was taken into custody.
Additionally, SAPS disclosed that a plastic bag, believed to have been used to hide the firearm involved in the crime, was discovered at the site of the arrest.
Nonetheless, it was confirmed by the police that the actual murder weapon has yet to be recovered.
