Traditional healer and reality TV figure Dr Khehlelezi, born Bhongolwethu Mzozo, is facing legal troubles after reportedly being stopped for driving significantly over the speed limit on the N2 highway near Park Rynie in KwaZulu-Natal.
On Tuesday, March 3, authorities apprehended him after observing his vehicle going at 171 km/h in a zone where the limit is 120 km/h.
As reported by Daily Sun, an attempt was made to stop him, but the situation intensified when he allegedly tried to evade the police.
Additional law enforcement support was called in before he was ultimately detained.
Following his arrest, he faced charges related to speeding.
In the wake of the event, Dr Khehlelezi has contested some of the accusations against him.
While he acknowledged that a speeding charge is pending, he claimed that the police’s account of his speed was overstated.
He indicated that the allegations about his rate of travel were not precise, suggesting that there was “a reason” for his high speed at the moment.
