Eberechi Eze has presented Arsenal with a significant injury issue. Softfootball reports that the attacking midfielder incurred a calf injury during their UEFA Champions League match against Bayer 04 Leverkusen.
Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has indicated via his official X channel that Manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed the necessity for a scan over the next 6–7 days to evaluate the extent of the injury.
Romano remarked:
Eberechi Eze will miss England games with calf injury. Arteta: “We have to do another scan in 6-7 days… wait and see the results”.
Eze, who joined Arsenal from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2025 for £68 million, exited the match despite having scored, alarming fans and club personnel.

<pFollowing the match, Eze provided a short assurance, saying he feels “alright,” but he has been excluded from England’s upcoming international matches against Brazil and Belgium. Additionally, he will miss the Carabao Cup final, where Arsenal was defeated by Manchester City.
The injury comes at a critical time for Arsenal’s campaign for the Premier League title, with Eze having recorded 5 goals and 7 assists in the 2026 season. Standard recovery periods for calf injuries suggest he may be out for 2–4 weeks, creating a notable void in the team’s creative options during this vital part of the season.
