Three legendary R&B and Hip-Hop groups from the 90s are set to unite for a groundbreaking tour.
TLC, Salt-N-Pepa, and En Vogue will kick off the It’s Iconic tour across the US this August through October.
It would be fantastic if this tour extended beyond the US, as 90s fans worldwide would relish the chance to attend.
Tickets will be available starting 26 March through Ticketmaster andLiveNation.
Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue have a history of collaboration, notably joining forces for the track What a Man back in 1993.
TLC
The name TLC comes from the stage names of its members: T-Boz, Left Eye, and Chilli. The group is now a duo, following the tragic passing of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in a car accident in Honduras in 2002, when she was just 30 years old.
With five studio albums to their name, they are celebrated for standout tracks like Waterfalls, Scrubs, and Diggin’ On You. Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins and Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas have since diminished their performance activities, particularly due to health issues faced by T-Boz.
En Vogue
En Vogue was a beloved name in the 90s, boasting seven official studio albums and a string of hits such as Don’t Let Go (Love), Giving Him Something He Can Feel, and Free Your Mind.
The original lineup featured Dawn Robinson, Cindy Herron, Terry Ellis, and Maxine Jones, though Robinson has since departed. She later joined the group Lucy Pearl alongside Raphael Saadiq and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, but has since taken a break from the music scene.
The remaining members continue to persevere, albeit with a much lower frequency of releases.
Salt-N-Pepa
Initially a duo featuring rappers Salt and Pepa, the group later expanded by adding DJ Spinderella to form a trio.
They released five studio albums and six collaborative projects.
Cheryl “Salt” James, Sandra “Pepa” Denton, and DJ Spinderella portrayed a bold image of female empowerment. They shattered barriers for women in rap with classics like Let’s Talk about Sex, Shoop, Giddy Up, and Push It.
