Sizwe Dhlomo has stirred up discussion once more. The radio personality created a buzz on social media throughout Southern Africa after posing a candid question concerning the Botswana President’s skin tone, effectively transforming a fashion admiration post into a significant regional conversation.

The incident began when a user named KamsZizi posted photos of the Botswana president strolling through a hallway alongside his staff, with the caption:

“Can your President ever? 🔥”

This post seemed intended to commend the leader’s smart, relaxed fashion sense. Sizwe Dhlomo, recognized for his unrestrained comments on social media, quote-tweeted the images alongside a pointed question in isiZulu:

“Wa bleacher uPresident wenu?” loosely translated as ‘Is your President skin bleaching?’

The remark quickly gained traction, prompting reactions from both sides of the border. Numerous users from Botswana countered, asserting that the president has consistently had a naturally lighter skin tone and that the illumination in the photos was merely from the camera flash and studio lights, not from any artificial skin treatment.

LegakwaSelemogo responded strongly:

“Nah! Bruh, he has always been light-skinned.”

Conversely, some South Africans were eager to voice their opinions. Many agreed with Sizwe’s observation, while others diverged into varied discussions. Malikdiponchi commented:

“Someone had to say. We have observed that he bleaches. O re tsenya matlho a batho.”

Tumsa_Eksel made a straightforward statement:

“President has bleached.”

Biggie_95LD drew a comparison to a former U.S. president:

“He’s trying too hard to look like Barack.”

MapholoRassie introduced a different analogy:

“Looking like the Congo Brazzaville President.”

AnnM278494 took a humorous approach:

“May I have the products he’s using, please.”

MagdelineS19242 referenced a famous lyric from Michael Jackson:

“‘Annie, are you ok?, Annie, are you okay? Are you ok Annie’ nguye.”

MissLuu_nje referred back to Sizwe’s post with:

“Ufaka iMemeza.”

Not all responses were favorable. faithmolsa questioned Dhlomo’s credibility with a pointed remark:

“President of what exactly? He couldn’t even run a municipality without wrecking it.”

tjubistar maintained a light-hearted tone:

“Banyaneng, whose the dude apparent ‘ayas e blue’ Answer quickly, please.”

Blaq_Supremacy remarked on the entire situation referencing Sizwe:

“Now it makes sense, o reka memeza ko bone.”

Oqotho contributed with an unexpected comment:

“AmaXhosa naturally amhlophe.”
