The episode of Uthando Nes’thembu that aired last night (1 April) saw many social media users criticizing Busisiwe MaCele for her hurtful remarks directed at her sister-wife Thobile MaKhumalo concerning her difficulties with fertility.
Viewers expressed their outrage and disappointment, considering this to be a particularly sensitive matter for MaKhumalo, who has faced infertility challenges.
MACELE DEEPLY INSULTED MAKHUMALO
During her therapy conversations with psychologist Nontobeko Mjadu, MaKhumalo revealed the mistreatment she has faced over the years from the Mseleku family.
She recounted a shocking incident involving MaCele, the first wife, occurring while they were still filming Ezomshado NoMaCele NoThobile, the show they co-hosted to give relationship guidance to guests.
“I recall us driving together around Umgababa, heading back to Port Shepstone after filming Ezomshado, and I distinctly remember MaCele saying… it seemed she was frustrated during our chat,” recounted MaKhumalo.
“Frustrated enough to the extent that she expressed: Oh, he (Musa) boasted to me (MaCele) that he’s marrying you because you’re supposed to give him numerous children. What’s the situation now that you can’t provide him with those kids?“

Continuing her narrative, MaKhumalo shared, “[She] laughed at the fact that he bragged about me bearing children, which later I couldn’t do.”
In her solo diary session, she mentioned that while MaCele’s statements were painful, she chose not to take them to heart.
“When she uttered those words, I doubt she comprehended how hurtful they were to me; however, I also recognize that it wasn’t personally directed at me in that moment,” she expressed.
Additionally, she revealed that MaCele had gone so far as to publicly insult her in front of others.
“She would insult me in public settings and in front of others, throwing any sorts of insults one could imagine, she remarked.

The latest episode also featured a flashback to a moment where MaCele made derogatory comments about MaKhumalo during her traditional wedding.
It appeared that the other wives were not meant to attend a certain section of the ceremony.
Nonetheless, MaKhumalo arrived, leading to the Cele family nearly forcing her to leave.
Regarding MaKhumalo’s attendance, MaCele stated: “Thobile was present merely out of curiosity. You all (her family) handled it well by sending her away. She’s too intrusive, and her intentions are unclear… Goodness, this nosy girl.”
