Kaizer Chiefs have made it public that Bheki Shongwe has been appointed as the new Group Chief Executive Officer of the club.
This role will officially start in May 2026. Shongwe has a history with Amakhosi, having held the position of Managing Director from 2009 to 2012.
Currently, he serves as a non-executive director on the Chiefs board. The club has stated that Shongwe will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the organization.
He will report to Chairman Kaizer Motaung and the board of directors.
Additionally, Shongwe is expected to collaborate closely with department heads and support Motaung in the overall management of the club.
The organization is confident that Shongwe’s prior experience and comprehensive knowledge of the club position him well to guide Chiefs into a new chapter.
“We welcome Mr Shongwe back to the Amakhosi fold and wish him every success in his new role,” the club said in a statement.
This appointment occurs at a crucial juncture for Chiefs, as the club works on rebuilding itself both on the pitch and off, following a series of challenging seasons.
