Unathi Nkayi discusses her divorce from Thomas Msengana
Unathi Nkayi confirmed her divorce from her ex-husband, radio personality Thomas “Bad Boy T” Msengana, back in 2017, marking the end of their 14-year marriage during which they had two children.
In a 2024 interview, Unathi addressed rumors of infidelity, stating that their separation was not due to cheating. She explained that they had grown apart and took years to manage the emotional aspects of their split with the guidance of family elders.
After the divorce, Unathi revealed that she spent over R750,000 in a lawsuit to clear her name from infidelity allegations that surfaced. Although she won the case against the publication that published the false claims, she only received R20,000.
She has been candid about the psychological effects of the separation, including turning to alcohol during particularly challenging times.
