The Red Bull Box Cart Race will make its return to Sandton Drive on Sunday, 20 September 2026, rekindling one of South Africa’s most vibrant and imaginative events.
<spanThis competition invites teams to design and race their own custom carts, free from engines, down a slope that includes various hurdles, jumps, and a lot of thrills. Teams comprising up to five members can enter by presenting their innovative cart designs through an online submission.
Having last taken place in Johannesburg in 2018, the race drew large crowds and saw more than 80 teams vying for supremacy through a combination of speed, ingenuity, and skills.
