In a brief chat with OkaySwisher, Solo Sae reflected on his surprise after hearing the new track. He highlighted the lack of prior interaction with Usimamane, making the similarity even more surprising.

He noted, “Me and Smuyzy (Usimamane) haven’t spoken until today, so we weren’t supposed to be on any song together,” he said. “So one of my friends just sent me this, and I was like, oh, kuyanyiwa.”

The remarks have sparked renewed conversations within South Africa’s hip-hop scene about themes of originality, influence, and distinguishing between inspiration and imitation. Solo Sae’s “Nuhmsayin” flow has emerged as a hallmark of his artistry, known for its unique rhythm and catchy delivery that have helped him gain prominence in a competitive environment.

As of now, Usimamane has not issued a public response to the claims, and opinions among listeners are divided. Some critics argue that Solo Sae himself may have drawn from Kindlynxsh’s style. As the clip circulates widely online, the discourse surrounding artistic limits in the local rap scene continues to intensify.
