Arsenal have initiated discussions with Bruno Guimarães’ representatives as they look to bolster their midfield ahead of the upcoming season.
This development follows Arsenal’s recent triumph, securing their first Premier League title in over two decades but ended with disappointment in the 2026 UEFA Champions League final, where they were defeated by Paris Saint-Germain.
The Gunners have made an initial inquiry, mirroring a move previously attempted by Manchester United before the transfer window opened. However, Softfootball reports that no formal contact has been established with Newcastle United, which, as of Thursday evening, has no plans to sell the Brazilian midfielder.
Bruno Guimarães has been a target for Arsenal since before his transfer to Newcastle, and sources indicate that he might be available for approximately £60 million this summer.

Additionally, Arsenal is evaluating multiple midfield candidates, including Alex Scott, Ayyoub Bouaddi, and Sandro Tonali, all of whom are under consideration. Andrea Berta is reportedly analyzing the potential targets before making any official bids.
Newcastle is now reportedly ‘braced for an approach’ from Arsenal regarding Guimarães, who may be joined by Aston Villa and England’s Morgan Rogers.
