South African music sensation Tyla has clarified the numerous misleading claims circulating on social media regarding her signing with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. The celebrated artist took it upon herself to dispel the rumors, firmly stating that the allegations were baseless.
The confusion originated when a user on X (formerly Twitter) posted a viral message asserting that Tyla had landed a significant deal with Roc Nation after her reported departure from Epic Records. This assertion quickly captured the attention of many, leading to widespread sharing across various platforms.
Further fueling the uncertainties was a digitally altered image that seemed to depict a billboard in New York’s Times Square announcing, “Roc Nation welcomes Tyla to the family.” This post also suggested that Jay-Z had reached out personally to Tyla after becoming a fan of her music and that a multi-million-dollar agreement had been struck.
Although the rumors created a whirlwind of excitement, no official statement came from Roc Nation, Tyla, or her management. Yet, the narrative continued to gain traction among fans and social media users.
Tyla has now addressed the rumors directly. In a concise message shared on her Instagram Stories, she provided a clear response that eliminated any ambiguity.
“I’m not signed to Roc Nation, But my Album A*POP is drops 24/7 (24 July 2026)” she stated.
This declaration quickly quelled the swirling rumors, confirming that the online speculation was unfounded and that the altered billboard image had no legitimate connection to any official news.
This situation highlights the rapid spread of misinformation across social media channels. Edited visuals and unverified claims can circulate extensively before being validated, underscoring the need for fans to depend on official communications from artists and their teams.
As Tyla gears up for the eagerly awaited release of her second studio album, A*POP, set to launch on 24 July, she continues to maintain her momentum. This new project follows her debut album, which garnered immense global acclaim and solidified her status as a leading figure in the international music scene from Africa.
Listeners are already experiencing a preview of this new chapter through singles released earlier, including “Bliss,” “Is It,” “Chanel,” and “She Did It Again”, featuring Swedish pop artist Zara Larsson. The forthcoming album is expected to reflect an evolution in Tyla’s distinct style as she blends Amapiano, Afropop, R&B, and pop influences.
Though the Roc Nation speculation created a momentary stir online, Tyla’s proactive response redirected attention to her artistic endeavors. With A*POP approaching release, excitement builds as fans eagerly anticipate the next installment in the talented South African artist’s ongoing narrative.
