Ghanaian artist Darkua, known for her Afro-Soul and R&B style, teams up with Nigerian musician TAR1Q, who is signed to Chocolate City, on the track “Know You.” This song explores themes of second chances in love, personal vulnerability, and the commitment to keeping promises.
The production of “Know You” is handled by Insvne Auggie from Ghana, setting a relaxed, mid-tempo backdrop that enhances the warmth of the song. It allows both Darkua and TAR1Q’s voices to shine, creating a rich and soulful listening experience that seamlessly fuses their unique styles.
The song opens with Darkua asserting her intent to embrace love again. She transitions into her native Ga, questioning who will genuinely stand by her, a moment that conveys her vulnerability while also expressing hope that her partner will be there for her.
At its core, “Know You” delves into the essence of commitment. This single emerged from the CNM x Rainlabs Songwriting Camp held in March 2026, a project aimed at connecting artists from anglophone and francophone West Africa in a collaborative environment.
Regarding the collaboration, Darkua stated: “TAR1Q has been an artist I have wanted to work with for a while now, and he has been on my radar. The camp presented the perfect opportunity to make this session possible. We recorded the song on the last day of the camp, and it was one of the best sessions we had.”
