Flow Jones Jr. Discusses DJ Sliqe’s Influential Advice That Altered His Approach to Rap. Flow Jones Jr. recently shared insights on a crucial piece of guidance given to him by DJ Sliqe, attributing his decision to incorporate Venac into his tracks to the experienced producer and DJ’s encouragement.

Reflecting on this pivotal advice, Flow Jones Jr. noted that DJ Sliqe was instrumental in encouraging him to transition from English rap to Venac. “He’s the one who encouraged me to go from rapping in English to Venac,” he explained, calling it the most significant career guidance he has received from Sliqe.
Flow Jones Jr. mentioned that while fans had been urging him to try Venac, he had previously dismissed their suggestions. Although people appreciated his music, they often commented that it would resonate more if he performed in Venac.
At that point, however, he was not convinced.
“I’d be like, Man, you don’t know what you’re talking about,” Flow Jones Jr. recalled.
The situation shifted when he entered the studio with DJ Sliqe. Instead of merely echoing the fans’ opinions, Sliqe presented a direct challenge: to trust the process and embrace Venac.
“When I finally got into the studio with him and he was like, ‘Yo, trust me, bro, go Venac,’” he recounted.
The first track Flow Jones Jr. created with DJ Sliqe after this encouragement was “Sta-Soft”, a collaboration that allowed him to experience the impact of the advice firsthand.
“And the first song I did with DJ Sliqe was ‘Sta-Soft’. You know, it was crazy. So it was good to see it in real time,” he expressed.
For Flow Jones Jr., this opportunity ultimately affirmed that Sliqe’s advice was significant. It opened up a new avenue of creativity and demonstrated the potential for deeper connection with audiences by adopting a language they had long wanted him to explore. In retrospect, Flow Jones Jr. reflects on that moment as a key piece of career advice from DJ Sliqe.
