The anticipation for one of South Africa’s most awaited musical events of the year has officially commenced. Oskido’s BIG DAY OUT has just disclosed its complete lineup of artists, showcasing some of the most impactful figures in house, kwaito, and dance music for a grand celebration of sounds that have defined numerous generations.
Returning to its original venue at Huddle Park in Johannesburg, the festival guarantees a day filled with iconic classics, memorable anthems, and the unmistakable vibe of a dance floor brought together by rhythm.
Curated by the iconic DJ, producer, and cultural innovator himself, BIG DAY OUT continues to honour South Africa’s rich musical heritage while crafting new experiences for a generation of music enthusiasts.
Headlining the MAIN STAGE is a remarkable lineup of trailblazers and crowd-pleasers, featuring: B.O.P and Mdu, Liquideep and Trompies, Oskido, DJ Cleo, and Glen Lewis, DJ Fresh, DJ Mbuso, and DJ Ganyani with Nokwazi, Durban’s Finest, DJ Cndo, along with DJs at Work.
From the captivating kwaito beats that defined a generation to the soulful house classics that still animate dance floors, the lineup features artists whose tracks have become integral to South Africa’s collective musical heritage.
But the experience extends beyond the Main Stage.
This year introduces the new NAMBA STAGE, which will provide a deeper exploration into the realms of deep and soulful house. This dedicated area will showcase: Sir LSG & DJ SoulDiva, Dark Horse and D’General, Mr Shane and Chymamusique, along with Sculptured Music and Bobsta B2B Sabz.
Designed to complement the Main Stage, this new feature creates an opportunity for house music aficionados to reconnect and immerse themselves in the rhythms that have influenced the nation’s vibrant club culture.
Event organizers also declared a formal partnership with media powerhouse Kaya959, introducing an exhilarating new aspect to the 2026 event.
This collaboration merges the influence of one of South Africa’s top radio stations with an event that celebrates community, heritage, and a shared passion for dance music.
“For Kaya959, Oskido’s Big Day Out and our partnership signify more than entertainment—it underscores the importance of creativity, cultural framing, and time,” states Kaya959 Marketing Executive Tumi Rabanye.
“Oskido embodies these qualities and amplifies them through the artists he has inspired. We believe that a significant positive impact and enjoyment can coexist, and as a cultural brand ourselves, there’s no better moment to engage with our audience.”
This year’s version of Big Day Out holds particular significance, as it celebrates Oskido’s recent accolade with the Order of Ikhamanga, bestowed by the Presidency in 2026 for his remarkable contributions to local music and culture.
This esteemed national award acknowledges his enduring impact on South Africa’s music scene and the countless artists he continues to motivate.
As the countdown progresses, music enthusiasts can anticipate a grand celebration that unites legendary artists, two amazing stages, and the melodies that continue to shape South African music culture.
