How to Ruin Diwali: Meet the Parents is a South African comedic film available on Netflix that debuted on Friday, 30 October 2026. The narrative revolves around a concealed engagement that unites a traditional Zulu family, led by characters such as Mmabatho (played by Rosemary Zimu), and an Indian medical dynasty known as the Chetty family, with Kyle Clark portraying Varshen alongside Jailoshini Naidoo as part of the family. Cultural clashes, a secret proposal, and deep-seated family issues threaten to upend the festive Diwali celebrations.
How to Ruin Diwali: Meet the Parents belongs to the well-loved How to Ruin franchise created by Rethabile and Katleho Ramaphakela. Earlier this year, Rethabile and Jayan Moodley discussed the film with The Citizen in an interview.
